Online anxiety therapy for teens and adults in Dallas and across Texas

Growing up can be tough. As a teenager or young adult, you’re constantly facing new challenges—figuring out your future, managing relationships, feeling pressure to succeed, and maybe even struggling with body image or social expectations. All of this can lead to intense anxiety, leaving you feeling overwhelmed, isolated, or even stuck. But you don’t have to go through it alone.

At Healing Harmony, we offer online anxiety therapy for teens, young adults, and third culture kids (TCKs) in Dallas and across Texas. Our goal is to provide a compassionate space where you can understand your anxiety and learn the tools to manage it, so you can feel more confident in handling the pressures of life.

What is anxiety therapy?

Anxiety therapy is designed to help you understand what’s causing your anxiety and give you tools to manage it and reduce it. For teenagers and young adults, anxiety often comes from various areas of life—figuring out who you are, worrying about the future, feeling pressure from social media or society to look or act a certain way, or managing relationships that sometimes feel overwhelming. Therapy helps you explore these issues and develop strategies to reduce stress, manage your thoughts, and feel more at peace.

Common treatments we use include cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), mindfulness practices, and exposure therapy to gently face the things that make you anxious in a safe environment. Depending on the severity of the anxiety, life coaching would also use similar techniques and might be a great therapy option. Our approach is personalized to meet your needs as a young adult.

Most common symptoms of anxiety in young adults

Anxiety can affect everyone differently, but as a young person, there are specific things that might trigger anxiety in your life. Here are some of the most common signs that anxiety is affecting you:

- Worrying about your future: You might constantly stress about finding a good job, deciding what profession you want to go into, getting into college, or whether you’ll ever be financially stable.

- Worrying about social situations: Social anxiety is a common issue among teens and young adults. You may feel that being around new people in new environments is terrifying and challenging. You may try to consistently avoid them due to the anxiety building up in your body.

- Feeling self-conscious about your body or appearance: You may feel anxious about how you look or compare yourself to others, especially on social media.

- Fear of failure: The pressure to succeed in school, at work, or in relationships might feel overwhelming. Failing at something can seem like the end of the world.

- Overthinking your relationships: Whether it’s romantic relationships, friendships, or family, anxiety might make you over analyze every interaction or worry that you’re not enough.

- Struggling with food and body image: Some teens and young adults may feel anxious about their relationship with food or body image, leading to unhealthy patterns or obsessive thoughts about eating or appearance.

- Physical symptoms of anxiety: Racing heart, trouble sleeping, sweating, stomach problems, or feeling restless and unable to relax.

If any of these sound familiar, anxiety therapy can help you understand what’s going on and teach you healthier ways to deal with these feelings.

How do I know if I have anxiety?

It’s not always easy to recognize anxiety, especially because it can show up in so many different ways. Ask yourself these questions:

- Do I spend a lot of time worrying about things that are out of my control, like the future or what others think of me?

- Do I avoid situations, like social gatherings or job interviews, because I’m afraid of embarrassing myself or failing?

- Do I feel pressure to look a certain way, and does this make me anxious about my appearance or how others see me?

- Do I often overthink conversations or interactions, replaying them in my head?

- Do I feel stressed about how my life is going, and worry that I’m not "on track" like others my age?

- Does my body feel completely exhausted and heavy after even short periods of social interactions?

If you answered “yes” to these questions, it might be time to consider anxiety therapy. It’s important to remember that anxiety is common, and there’s nothing wrong with needing a little help to get through it.

How we treat anxiety in teens and adults Dallas and across Texas

At Healing Harmony, we offer online therapy that’s designed to fit into your busy life. Our sessions can be done from the comfort of your home, which makes it easier to talk about things without feeling the pressure of a formal setting. After an initial assessment we can help you decide if Counseling or Life Coaching would be the best form of therapy. We focus on:

- Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT): This type of therapy helps you change the negative thought patterns that contribute to your anxiety. It’s a powerful tool to help you break the cycle of overthinking and self-doubt.

- Mindfulness Practices: Learning to be present and focus on the moment can help reduce anxiety. We teach relaxation techniques like deep breathing and meditation to calm your mind when anxiety feels overwhelming.

- Practical Coping Strategies: We give you real-life tools to handle anxious situations, like preparing for a job interview or managing stress at school.

- Gradual Exposure: For teens and young adults with social anxiety, we can help you gradually face the situations that make you anxious, like speaking in public or meeting new people, at a pace that feels right for you.

Our approach is all about helping you find balance in your life, so you can move forward without being held back by anxiety.

Yes. Therapy helps you manage the psychological and physical symptoms of anxiety, including panic attacks. We teach you several techniques like breathing exercises to calm your body in moments of stress.

Can I treat anxiety at home?

While there are self-help strategies that can help, like mindfulness and relaxation exercises, therapy offers structured guidance to address the root causes of anxiety.

How long does anxiety therapy or treatment take?

This depends on the individual. Some people see improvement in a few months, while others may need longer-term support. Typically, clients attend weekly sessions.

Is medication necessary for treating anxiety?

What is the difference between TCK life Coaching with Rebekah and Counseling with Jeffrey?

Life Coaching and Counseling overlap in many ways. Both help you reach life goals, deal with relational issues, process the past, etc. However, the way they are different is mainly what Life Coaching can’t do. For any type of diagnosing, trauma, suicidal ideation, and extreme cases, you would need to do Counseling with Jeffrey under his LPC license.

Both Jeffrey and Rebekah are specialized in TCK therapy. Rebekah is a Life Coach with official certifications in TCK Caregiving, Anxiety Coaching, and Christian Spiritual Direction.

Jeffrey is a Licensed Professional Counselor who has done extensive research on TCKs. He also specializes in and has done extensive research on ADHD.

Since Jeffrey is an LPC, he is licensed to diagnose and handle high levels of trauma, so if that is the case, you would be referred to him. Either way, once you have an introduction session with us, we will refer you to the one of us we think your situation needs the most and if we aren’t the right fit we will refer you to our network of other therapists.

Do you provide virtual counseling, especially if we are outside of Texas or the USA?

Jeffrey LPC, can only provide in-person or online counseling if you are physically within the state of Texas.

If you are based anywhere else in the world we can help you with our life coach license.

Do you offer discounts to missionary families?

We are passionate about serving TCKs and making sure they receive proper support so we offer a few sessions at a discounted rate. If those discounted sessions are already taken, then we do our best to pair you with other therapists and resources that match your budget.

We can also work with Missionaries’ sending organizations to see if they will pay for part of therapy.

Do you offer family therapy?

Jeffrey and Rebekah are not family therapists, so if a client needs family therapy, we will refer them out to experienced therapists in our network. Individual therapy often involves other family members though, so there might be a few sessions that can involve other family members in order to support the individual client and their growth journey.
