Dealing with depression can feel isolating and overwhelming, especially for teens and young adults. If you're struggling to find balance and feel stuck in a cycle of sadness, hopelessness, or lack of motivation, we’re here to help. At Healing Harmony, we offer online depression therapy to teens, young adults, and third culture kids across Dallas and Texas. We provide a safe, compassionate space where you can express your emotions freely, explore the root causes of your depression, and work towards healing.
Depression is more than feeling down from time to time—it's a serious mental health condition that affects your mood, thoughts, and even physical well-being. The good news is that with the right support, you can find relief and regain control of your life. Let's explore common depression symptoms, treatments, and how you can start your journey to recovery today.
Depression therapy is a form of counseling designed to help individuals who experience persistent feelings of sadness, hopelessness, or a lack of motivation. Therapy focuses on identifying the underlying causes of depression and provides practical tools to manage emotions, improve coping skills, and foster a sense of control over life. Common approaches include cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), interpersonal therapy (IPT), and mindfulness-based techniques.
In depression therapy, we work together to explore negative thought patterns, understand how they affect your emotions and behavior, and develop healthier ways to navigate daily life. Through regular sessions, you’ll have the opportunity to process difficult emotions in a non-judgmental space, where your unique experiences are honored.
Depression can manifest differently in everyone, but here are some of the most common symptoms you or your loved one may experience:
- Persistent feelings of sadness or emptiness
- Loss of interest in activities once enjoyed
- Changes in appetite, either eating too much or too little
- Trouble sleeping or oversleeping
- Fatigue or lack of energy, even after rest
- Difficulty concentrating, making decisions, or remembering details
- Feelings of guilt, worthlessness, or helplessness
- Physical symptoms such as headaches, digestive issues, or chronic pain
- Thoughts of self-harm or suicide
These symptoms can interfere with everyday life, making it difficult to function at school, work, or in relationships. Recognizing these signs early is key to getting the support you need.
If you’ve been feeling constantly down, fatigued, or emotionally numb for weeks or months, it could be a sign of depression. Some key questions to ask yourself include:
- Do I feel sad, empty, or hopeless most of the time?
- Have I lost interest in activities or hobbies that I used to enjoy?
- Am I having trouble focusing, sleeping, or making decisions?
- Do I feel physically unwell or drained without a clear reason?
- Have I had thoughts of self-harm or wished I wasn’t around?
If you’ve answered "yes" to several of these questions, it's important to seek help. Depression is a treatable condition, and online therapy can provide you with the tools to start feeling better.

There are several types of depression, including major depressive disorder, persistent depressive disorder (dysthymia), seasonal affective disorder (SAD), and bipolar depression. Your therapist will help identify which type you’re experiencing and recommend appropriate treatment.
The duration of therapy varies depending on the individual. Some people see progress within a few months, while others may benefit from longer-term support. Typically, clients attend therapy sessions weekly for several months.
Not everyone with depression needs medication, but it can be helpful for some individuals, especially in combination with therapy. Your therapist will discuss all treatment options with you to find what works best.
Online therapy has been shown to be just as effective as in-person therapy for treating depression. It offers flexibility and convenience, allowing you to receive treatment from the comfort of your home.
Therapy for teens often includes a focus on developmental challenges, peer pressure, and emotional regulation. For third culture kids, we also address issues related to cultural identity and frequent relocations.
Life Coaching and Counseling overlap in many ways. Both help you reach life goals, deal with relational issues, process the past, etc. However, the way they are different is mainly what Life Coaching can’t do. For any type of diagnosing, trauma, suicidal ideation, and extreme cases, you would need to do Counseling with Jeffrey under his LPC license.
Both Jeffrey and Rebekah are specialized in TCK therapy. Rebekah is a Life Coach with official certifications in TCK Caregiving, Anxiety Coaching, and Christian Spiritual Direction.
Jeffrey is a Licensed Professional Counselor who has done extensive research on TCKs. He also specializes in and has done extensive research on ADHD.
Since Jeffrey is an LPC, he is licensed to diagnose and handle high levels of trauma, so if that is the case, you would be referred to him. Either way, once you have an introduction session with us, we will refer you to the one of us we think your situation needs the most and if we aren’t the right fit we will refer you to our network of other therapists.
Jeffrey LPC, can only provide in-person or online counseling if you are physically within the state of Texas.
If you are based anywhere else in the world we can help you with our life coach license.
We are passionate about serving TCKs and making sure they receive proper support so we offer a few sessions at a discounted rate. If those discounted sessions are already taken, then we do our best to pair you with other therapists and resources that match your budget.
We can also work with Missionaries’ sending organizations to see if they will pay for part of therapy.
Jeffrey and Rebekah are not family therapists, so if a client needs family therapy, we will refer them out to experienced therapists in our network. Individual therapy often involves other family members though, so there might be a few sessions that can involve other family members in order to support the individual client and their growth journey.
Therapy and Life Coaching for young adults serving Texas & worldwide. We specialize in ADHD and Third Culture Kids.
